DON’T MISS GAY MARSHALL -TOMORROW, DEC. 5 – ON NPR’s WEEKEND EDITION SATURDAY WITH SCOTT SIMON
Actress and singer Gay Marshall will be a guest on NPR 's Weekend Edition Saturday with Scott Simon tomorrow, December 5.
Weekend Edition is heard in NYC on WNYC 93.9 FM and AM 820, and Gay’s interview will begin approximately 8:45am EST.

Gay’s recent concerts of her CD ‘Gay Marshall sings Piaf’ at New York's Metropolitan Room got rave reviews and standing ovations. Her take on Edith Piaf is ‘more magic than tragic’ and she delivered Piaf’s dramatic repertoire - including her own English adaptations of the original French - with power, deeply felt emotion and authenticity, yet not a hint of imitation. For those of you who weren’t able to make it in the fall, she’ll be back at The Metropolitan Room in February and March 2010 with this fantastic show. NPR's Peabody Award-winning correspondent Scott Simon is a prolific journalist and author who brings an eclectic and well-traveled perspective to his role as host of Weekend Edition Saturday. From pop culture (Sting - 11/09) to war reporting (In 2002, he took temporary leave of the stewardship of Weekend Edition Saturday to cover the war in Afghanistan for NPR), Simon's broadcasts are always fascinating and informative. His interview with the eccentric and mesmerizing performer, Gay Marshall, is sure to be a major treat.
